Kidder Way, OPAL Community Land Trust

OPAL Community Land Trust’s Kidder Way project is currently under construction and once complete will consist of ten permanently affordable townhomes on Orcas Island. Kidder Way sits on a one-acre site located in the Eastsound Urban Growth Area. When completed, the homes will be priced to be affordable for households with low to moderate incomes. When the houses are re-sold in the future, a formula in the lease will determine the affordable resale price for subsequent purchasers. OPAL, like all community land trusts, will facilitate future resales.
The project consists of six one-bedroom homes and four 2 bed-room homes. Kidder Way property is situated next to the medical center, Island Primary Care – Orcas, and is about half a mile from the center of Eastsound and within easy walking distance to the public school.
Kidder Way is expected to complete construction in 2025.
